Much can be gained by paying more attention, and by reflecting upon our lives. You do not have to react to others opinions as if they are stating facts. But stop and ask yourself why others opinions are so important to you? Why is it making you upset?

It is also very useful to examine emotional patterns in close relationships, for example in love relations. What we want to give to others, or cure others from, is often a reflection of our own needs and deep wishes… but that may be much to painful to take in…
